Backtestly

Privacy Notice

Last updated: March 22, 2026. This page summarizes how Backtestly handles account, portfolio, and usage data for the web application.

What we collect

  • Account details needed for sign-in, such as your email address.
  • Portfolio settings, saved portfolios, and preferences you choose to store in the product.
  • Technical information needed to operate the service, such as session tokens, browser storage, and request logs.

How we use data

We use data to authenticate users, save portfolios and preferences, run backtests, protect the service, and improve reliability. We do not use portfolio inputs to provide personalized financial advice.

Product analytics

Backtestly may use product analytics tools, including Microsoft Clarity, to understand navigation patterns, clicks, scroll behavior, and session-level interaction data so we can improve the user experience and diagnose product friction. Where consent is required, analytics cookies are disabled until you opt in. You can review or change that choice later from the cookie settings control in the footer. We do not intentionally use analytics tools to capture passwords or provide personalized financial advice.

Storage and service providers

Backtestly may rely on infrastructure and authentication providers to host the application, manage sign-in, and store product data. Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve security or operational issues.

Cookies and local storage

The application uses browser storage, cookies, and similar mechanisms for sign-in state, preferences, analytics, and saved portfolio workflows. Essential product features may rely on storage for sign-in and saved preferences, while analytics cookies can be accepted or declined separately through the cookie settings control in the footer.

Beta status

Backtestly is still in beta. Data coverage, asset support, and product behavior may change. If data handling or product scope changes materially, this notice should be updated.
